İlk yorumu ben yapayım.Birçok linkin park fanı bu albümle linkin park'tan uzaklaşacak.Bunun yanında linkin parkın yeni bir fan kitlesi doğacak.Lp'nin son bir görevi kalıyor o da piyasa olma derdini kafalarından atmaları.
Tabi ki bu albüm için nu-metalden bahsetmemiz mümkün değil,zaten 2004'ten beri nu-metal farklı algılanmaya başlamıştı.

HYBRİD THEORY


"Hybrid Theory" 24 Ekim 2000’de raflardaki yerini alırken albümün kapağını süsleyen ve Mike’ın imzasını taşıyan kelebek kanatlı bayrak taşıyan asker, Linkin Park’ın sembolü oldu. Albümün çıkış parçası olarak "One Step Closer" seçilmişti. Grubun ilk video klibi de bu şarkıya çekildi. Yönetmen Gregory Dar, daha önce pornografik filmler çevirdiği için bir süre gündemi meşgul etti. Klibin televizyonlarda sürekli gösterilmesi, grup için müthiş bir reklam fırsatıydı...

Hızlı bir çıkış sağlayan "One Step Closer", bazı tartışmalara da sebep oldu. Şarkıda Chester’ın ön planda olduğu ve Mike’ın bundan rahatsızlık duyduğu iddiaları ortaya atıldı. Bu arada albüm ilk haftada Billboard listelerine 16. sıradan girmişti. Daha sonra artan satış grafiğiyle 2001 yılının en çok satılan albümü oldu.

Albümde "Paper Cut" parçasının Linkin Park’ın özeti olduğunu söylemek mümkün. Mike!ın tekrarları Chester’ın melodik vokal biçmi ve bütün bunların gitarla bir araya gelişi Linkin Park’ın tarzını net bir biçimde özetliyor. "With You", nakarat bölümü ile dinleyiciyi baştan çıkarıyor. Chester’ın güçlü yorumları albüme damgasını vurmuş.

"A Place for My Head" rap ile rock tarzlarının başarıyla bir araya getirilmesinden oluşuyor. "Cure For The Itch" ise bir elektronik müzik denemesi olarak nitelendirilebilir. Dördüncü parça, Linkin Park konserlerinin en ateşli parçası "Points Of Authority".

"Hybrid Theory", bir anlamda Linkin Park’ın her türlü müziğin üstesinden gelebileceğini gösteriyor. Yani albümde daha önce görmediğimiz denemeler en iyi şekilde sergilenmiş. Brad’in gitarı ile yarattığı sesler Linkin Park’ı diğer gruplardan ayırıyordu. Örnekleme olduğu sanılan bir çok müzik aslında Brad’ın gitarı ile yaptığı seslerden ibaret. Brad; gitarından zil, arp ya da klavyeye benzeyen sesler çıkartabiliyor. Bu da Linkin Park müziğinin özgün değerlerini yansıtan bir ayrıntı aslında...

Ardından gelen "Crawling" de en az "Paper Cut" kadar kaliteli bir parça. Sonrasında "By Myself", "Forgotten" ve "Pushing Me Away" ile Linkin Park şölenini tamamlıyoruz.

Albüm kapağındaki kelebek kanatları melodilerinin güzelliğini anlatırken, asker de onların bu güne kadar verdikleri mücadeleyi ve rock’ı temsil ediyordu. Grup nu-metal için yeni bir dönem açacaklarının farkında ve bu yüzden iddialıydılar. Kapaktaki askerin bayrak taşıması ise onların liderliğini gösteriyordu bir anlamda... Kısa sürede özgün bir tarz yakalamayı başaran genç grup Linkin Park, "Hybrid Theory" ile neler yapabileceğini gösterdi müzik dünyasına... Yepyeni albümleri ve şarkılarıyla, tarzın kendilerinden genç takipçilerine ilham kaynağı olacaklar...

REANİMATİON



Grubun hazır malzeme üzerinden para kazanması için bir remix albümü idealdi ama 'Reanimation'ın daha ilk dakikalarından, bu albümün sadece grup üyelerinin evlerini daha şık bir hale sokup sonra MTV Cribs'de hava basmalarına neden olacak bir yapıt olmadığını anlıyorsunuz. Kısaca ifade etmek gerekirse, bu yeni bir 'Limp Bizkit - New Old Songs' vakası değil. 'Reanimation'ın remix albümleri tarihinde en çok satan albüm unvanını şimdiden kapması tesadüf değil. Bu bir remix albümü ama ruhu var. Projenin başındaki Mike Shinoda'nın ve onun görev verdiği insanların, şarkıları yeniden biçimlendirirken çok titiz davrandıkları belli oluyor. Mesela Jonathan Davis'in Humble Brothers ile rötuş attığı 'One Step Closer'ın yeni yorumunu (1stp klosr) orijinalinden daha iyi olmuş. Sonra Orgy'den Jay Gordon'un kotardığı 'Points Of Authority' yorumu (Pts.of athrty) ve Taproot'tan Stephen Richards'ın kurcaladığı 'Pushing Me Away' yorumu (P5shing Me A*wy) hemen dikkat çekecek kadar sıra dışı olan remiksler. Altı çizilmesi gereken bir diğer önemli nokta da, albümün bir remix çalışması olması yüzünden, Linkin Park'ın rock tavrının kaybolduğunu düşünenlerin yanılıyor olacakları. Gitar temelli şarkıların çoğunda gitar es geçilmemiş ve insanı kafa sallamaya yönelten Linkin Park sound'u korunmuş. Albümün bir özelliği de yeni parçaların ve sadece Japon baskılarında bulunan şarkıları (My Dsmbr, H! Vltg3, X-ecutioner Style) barındırması. Gerçi bunlar bildiğimiz Linkin Park türküleri gibi değil ama her biri 'parkın müdavimleri' için hazine değerinde. Bence 'Reanimation', merakla beklenen yeni Linkin Park albümü öncesinde hayranları fazlasıyla oyalayacak, melez teorinin yeniden ispatlandığı, remix albümler söz konusu olduğunda 'başyapıt' sayılabilecek bir uzun çalar.

COLLİSİON COURSE



2004’ün sonlarında Linkin Park en hırslı projeleri olan olan “Collision Course” albümü üzerinde çalışmaya başladı. “Collision Course”, rapçi Jay-Z ile beraber yapıldı ve bu albümün dünyaya mash-up’ları tanıştırdı. Mash-up, en az iki ünlü şarkının remixidir.

METEORA



Şimdi gerçek bir ikinci albüm ile zor bir sınavdan geçecekler. Elbette "Meteora"nın, "Hybrid Theory"nin kalıplarına sıkı sıkıya bağlı olduğunu öğrenmek bir sürpriz olmayacak albümü henüz dinlemeyenler için, yani Chester hala, bir mırıldanıp bir çığlık çığlığa şarkı söylüyor, ritmik melodiler kulakları okşarken ardından bir anda gelen gürültülü nakaratlar hala dinleyiciyi aynı ölçüde kendinden geçiriyor.

Albümün ilginç şarkılarından biri "Nobody’s Listening"... Japon pan flütleri üzerine yamanmış bir hip hop şarkısı olan bu çalışmanın da içinde bulunduğu albümün özetini Mike, şöyle çıkarıyor: "Acı dolu bir kalbim / Sorun dolu bir beynim / Kucak dolusu öfkem var"... ("I got a heart full of pain / Head full of stress / Handful of anger held in my chest")

İlk albümü de kotaran yapımcı Don Gilmore, grubunaykırı yanları ile radyo dostu yanlarını öyle güzel harmanlamış ki, kulağınıza kolayca yerleşen, ancak bunun için ucuzlatılmamış şarkılar hazırlamış. İlk single "Somewhere I Belong", belki de albümün ilk anda en çok öne çıkan parçası. Hatta belki de grubu sempatik kılan, tekrar ilk olarak bu parçayla dinlenmiş olmasıdır. Chester’ın boğazını yırtarcasına seslendirdiği "Don’t Say", iyi bir elektroşok terapisi yerine geçebilecek gitarları ile "Hit The Floor", biraz balad ile nefes alalım diyenler için "Easier To Run", başka bir müzik türünde hazırlanmış olsaydı da hit olması kaçınılmaz bir melodiye sahip (ve bir sonraki single çalışması olma ihtimali yüksek) "Figure 9" ve farklı tarzıyla "Breaking The Habit", ilk anda dikkati çeken şarkılar arasında...

"Meteora" sadece 37 dakika sürüyor. Biri giriş (intro) niteliğinde 13 şarkının bulunduğu albüm, son derece özenli biçimde hazırlanmış. Yine de ilk albüm kadar etkileyici olmadığı düşünülebilir. Ne olursa olsun, Linkin Park, 2003 yazında Metallica ile çalışacak kadar büyümüş, çok önemli bir topluluk. "Meteora" albümü de gerçekten dinlemeye değer...

LİVE IN TEXAS



En az satan Heavy Metal grupları bile sık sık konser albümleri çıkartırken nedense numetal grupları bu konuda pek bir sessiz. NuMetal grupların Mainstream olma kaygısıyla yarattıkları suni, cilalı, fazla mükemmel stüdyo kayıtları yerine, doğal hallerini duyma adına konser kayıtları her zaman çok daha önemlidir! Bu yüzden "Live in Texas" Linkin Park'ın müziğindeki öfkeyi stüdyo albümlerine oranla çok daha iyi yansıtıyor. Şarkı seçimleri gayet iyi. Bir konser klasiği değil ama fanları fazlasıyla memnun edecek bir albüm diyebiliriz!
